LD + mental illness: I have worked with many people who have had learning disabilities who were not experiencing signs of mental illness. Many people have small learning issues that are not so intrusive in their lives. However, sometimes LD can be so intrusive as to negatively affect a person's functioning and then there could be resultant emotional problems.

Can lead to them: By itself, LD is just a faulty wiring in the brain. You just don't process the same information the same way. By itself it is not a mental health issue and millions of people work around their LD and have prosperous and full lives. That said, depending on the type & impact of the LD on the individual, it can lead to many mental health issues.
