Had my lungs checked out, told i have upper resperitory infect. they said my lungs sounded clear but deminished... what does that mean?

No pneumonia: Generally, although not always, when you have pneumonia and listen to the lungs you can hear "rales" which are faint cracking noises on inspiration. Diminution of breath sounds can occur for many reasons, and since it is a very subjective assessment it may not be at all significant. If you are ill it might help to have a chest x-ray if your doctor is concerned. Best.
