Are you sure?: If your gums are swollen there is usually a good reason, there is definitely an infection or an inflammation due to an irritation. Regardless, if it does not go away in a few days by itself, with just routine hygiene and some warm water and salt, you need to have someone look at it.

See a Pro: Swelling either means trauma (perhaps gums were scratched), food impact ion into a gum pocket, infected (abscessed) tooth draining through the gums, or infected gums themselves. Please woo your dentist to diagnose the cause and to prescribe or previde the appropriate treatment.
