Lower back in excruciating pain.can't stand more than 30 mins.mri showed facet hypertrophic changes, joint swelling l1-l5. could this be causing pain?

Yes: You should probably see a spine specialist for a full evaluation of the MRI and your symptoms. If your pain does not resolve you may be a candidate for facet joint injection or even radiofrequency ablation of those nerves for longer lasting relief. However before assuming this is what you need i would ask you to be truly evaluated as there could also be a disc issue or pinched nerve involved.
