A member asked:

Is the antibiotic that is generally considered to be the best medication for treating hypostatic pneumonia also the best medication for treating sepsis?

Please rephrase : Anibiotics target specific bacteria. In general, different antibiotics are used for infections caused by different bacteria. Pneumonia is a lung infection. Sepsis is a severe infection which has spread to the circulatory system. Both types of infection can be caused by the same type of bacteria.

Depends: Totally depends upon findings on cultures. Sepsis is a very serious condition and if you had it, you would know it and most likely be in the hospital.
