Pneumonia: Hypostatic pneumonia is usually confined to bedridden people. There is usually a collection of fluid in the lung bases which may have to be drained.Treatment also consists of antibiotics as in broncopneumonia.

Semantics!: A pneumonia is a serious infection of the lung which usually shows as consolidation(white patch) of a part of the lung. The various names are of no consequence as the treatment is basically antibiotics of one type or another depending on the history of illness and the patient characteristics.
