Will a mri let me know if i have cns lupus and how severe it is.

It may: An MRI can show many things including lesions within the brain. Many other forms of CNS disease such as seizures may not show up on an mri.

It can but: There is lack of sensitivity of conventional MRI is there no doubt and there is indication to use mrs(magnetic resonance spectroscopy) we can measure brain metabolites.Mrs tests will show consistently reduction in n-acetyle asparate which is a specific nural marker for CNS lupus MRI still remains gold standard for assessment which is non invasive but there are problems with sensitivity/specificity.
