YES: CNS lupus is serious. Not all lupus patients get cerebral symptoms but still there are many grades of CNS lupus. If you just have symptoms but not CNS bleeding or vasculitis see on imaging you are in a better category. I would suggest you ask your doctor who is taking care of your lupus what imaging can be done.

Yes to symptoms: There are very many symptoms of CNS lupus and vertigo and headaches are common features. V cns disease and kidney disease are two of the more serious system involvements in lupus depending on all of the CNS symptoms will determine long term survival.
