Need Rheumatologist: My suggestion is to see a progressive rheumatologist in your relatively local area. There are many great centers around the country. Your location and access to the doctor can not be discounted. This is a long term disease, not a single visit issue. Many great doctors are around you.

UP TO THE CHALLENGE: Lupus that causes inflammation of the brain and spinal cord (central nervous system or cns) is known as CNS lupus. Symptoms: seizures, cognitive difficulties (learning, memory, and thought), headaches, psychiatric symptoms: anxiety, depression, and hallucinations. There are effective treatments: high dose steroids, cytoxan, cellcept, (mycophenolate mofetil) imuran, and rituxan. Risks and benefits discussion: important.
