Yes: While it is certainly possible that the infection cleared on its own, it may have only subsided a little. If it then moves up to your kidneys it is a very serious infection. At the very least get a urine culture to confirm that it is gone.

Yes: It's not like people never got rid of infections before antibioitics were invented in the 1940's. Our bodies/immune systems are quite capable of eventually clearing many infections by itself.
