A member asked:

How come water pills wont work like diurex, i know i have brawney edema and tried it, my doctor didn't want to check me out, i still retain, any ideas ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Edema?: Lower extremity edema has many causes including cumulative damage to lymphatic drainage from surgery, trauma, infiltrating disease and infection. Elevation, compression and exercise are the mainstays of therapy. Avoidance of salt works better than diuretics which may not work at all in edema due to lymphatic blockage.
