A 33-year-old female asked about a 32-year-old male:
Is oral minoxidil at 1.5mg daily, safe for male hair loss? does it cause edema, water build up in body and cardiac lesions on heart? worried for husband who was prescribed this by his doctor but safety data online says otherwise?

Oral Minoxidil is used to reduce High Blood Pressure. Because of its high risk for side effects, it is typically given with two other meds in order to limit the negative effects. Oral Minoxidil should not be used for hair loss treatment. For hair loss, topical use is preferred.
