A member asked:

How come so many drugs fail to be approved by fda?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Many disappoint: A series of different level studies must show the medicine is safe, that there's a reasonable chance it will be helpful, and only then can a controlled study be done to demonstrate clear benefit. Many new touted "breakthrough" drugs prove terribly disappointing. This is the reality -- there's no magic way to find miracle cures, but i've never believed in dark conspiracies either.
