Uncover reason: Memory can worsen secondary to anticholinergic side effects of many medications, but repetitive head injuries, thyroid problems, b-12 deficiency, infections from syphilis or hiv, recreational drugs, alcohol abuse, ongoing depression and/or anxiety, insufficient sleep, could all be considered as explanations. A neurologist or psychiatrist could help sort all of this out.
