What is HIV antibody test accuracy?
Hello Sir I want to know about the window period of HIV antibody tests. I tested negative after 6 months of the exposure and 1.8 yr of the previous .
Is HIV detectable after window period (3 months) by hiv-antibody test if pep is taken after 8 weeks of exposure assuming HIV is transmitted?
As I understand Hiv algorithm,the people sick with hiv for 2 weeks they will be positive because antibodies will produce to react the virus. If no symtoms then you need to test at window period to be sure,at the end just follow the window period?
I dont understand hiv testing window period and why so many doctors and websites say 6 months even some say a year but CDC says 90 days on only antibody tests?some say antibody tests are unreliable there are millions who rely on 3 month guidelines??
