could you explain why does my tooth hurt after 4 days of tooth extraction?

Socket: Your socket may have food caught in it. Rinse with copious amounts of salt water three times a day. If this does not solve the problem please see your dentist to have the area checked. If the pain is a 12 on a scale of 10 then you may have a dry socket so please see your dentist for treatment.
