TMD?: Sometimes your jaw absorbs a lot of pressure during a lower extraction that strains your TMJ or jaw joint which is immediately in front of your ear. Put your finger in your ear. press forward, and slowly open to see if this is the center of your discomfort. If so, try a cold pack and ibuprofen being careful to not exceed recommended dosage. If it persists, go back to your dentist for evaluation.

Jaw Muscles Pain: The most common complication after wisdom tooth extraction is trismus also called spasm and tightness in the jaw muscles. The best treatment is moist heat and jaw exercises.
