3 simple steps: 1) diagnostic phase, 2) surgical phase ; 3) restorative phase . Diagnostic steps should start with thorough oral examination ; 3-d ct scan. Surgical step is designed according to restorative guidelines using ct scan. The final stage (restorative phase) could be completed as early as 3- 4 months following the successful integration of implants.

Implant steps: After xrays and planning an implant is selected to fit the space. at surgery the bone is exposed and a hole (osteotomy) is made and the implant is threaded in. In some cases a temp crown can be placed immediately when that can not be done its allowed to heal a few months then a crown is fabricated.

Implant: What you need to first decide is how you are restoring the area, single tooth, multiple teeth, fixed bridge work , removable implant supported dentures. Once you and the restorative dentist decide on the final restoration, you plan how to make it happen, whether its extraction , grafting etc, prior to implant placement. In some cases( such as mine) the surgeon and restorative dentist are the same
