Hopelessness: If the tooth is hopeless (meaning it cannot be saved, either restoratively, periodontally, or endodontically) it should be immediately extracted to prevent problems. Problems can include pain, swelling, and damage to adjacent teeth. If it is hopeless it means it is now useless to you and can only hurt, not help you.
