Doubtful: I'd great doubt that the 4-month long "allergic reaction" was from cipro (ciprofloxacin). As for your swollen vocal cord, have you seen an ENT doctor on this condition? If it is just a one-time thing, cortisone may be ok but whether it works or not is another issue. If it is a recurrent problem, then you need to consult an allergist since throat swelling can be a life-threatening event.
