Examination: Many people are nervous about seeing a dentist after so long. The dentist will start by reviewing your medical and dental history, take x-rays and do a complete examination of your teeth, gums, oral cavity. Then they will review the findings with you and discuss treatment options. Ask any questions you have and make sure you understand and are comfortable with the proposed treatment plan.

Support: Expect a thorough review of hour medical/dental history (be thorough & frank) and a thorough review of all your meds (prescription/OTC/recreational), a thorough examination, x-rays, & possibly lab tests. Expect to have your teeth professionally cleaned, which may require multiple visits. The Dentist will then discuss possible treatment alternatives and, if required, specialist referral(s).

Xrays and a clinical check up to see if there are any cavities and to see the condition of the bone that is holding your teeth. A cleaning may also be done during the first visit. And ask the dentist to explain everything that will be done as he or she is doing it, will make the visit easier
