Question for dentists: what percentage of your patients haven't been to a dentist in around 10 years? is it really rare?

Not uncommon: About 20% because I am known for treating very anxious patients. The one thing those patients seem to have in common is that they all think they are the worst I have seen. My guess is that is your real question. You should expect to see a dentist and not be judged.

How could we know?: Our sample size is skewed, because we can't know how many people there are who havent been to a dentist.

It's not rare to see patients who have not been to a dentist. In my practice I see patients who show up with swelling or pain. Generally the cause is not having good oral hygiene or getting regular dental checkups.
