Yes: You may have infected teeth &/or gums. As infection spreads you may have chills, fever, malaise, energy loss, etc. as infection spreads it can harm underlying bone, heart, kidneys, liver, brain, etc, and can even become life threatening. This is quite serious. Call a Dentist NOW, not tomorrow, NOW.

Possibly: This is not a very common symptom of gum disease but I wouldn't rule it out as the cause of your condition. You may want to see your doctor first to make sure it's not something else. If the doctor gives you a clean bill of health then find a dentist to give you a comprehensive oral evaluation and a full set of x-rays. A dental abscess could be causing your symptoms. Good luck.
