Surgery hurts: There's no getting around it. Much less problematic today than just a few years ago because of improvements in surgical techniques and medications. Sometimes there's no choice, it's the only way to resolve your problem. Having one jaw not match the other is like having one leg shorter than the other, eventually everything gets thrown off. Talk to BOTH qualified Orthodontic and Oral Surgeon.
