Bleaching teeth: Whitening toothpastes do not have an active ingredient to whiten teeth. They are more abrasive, so they will remove superficial stains- and some tooth structure. Since the braces cover some of the tooth structure, you run the risk of having the braces removed and seeing different shades of tooth color. I would suggest that you avoid these toothpastes while in braces.

Sure: while a slim chance you will whiten teeth around the brackets and cause a discoloration, if its a choice of this toothpaste or not brushing, then use it. if you don't care, avoid the whitening for now

Can you?: Yes. Should you? No. No matter the whitening system, abrasive or chemical, it will only affect the part of the tooth not covered by a brace. That leads to the risk of lighter teeth surrounding a darker island. Better to focus now on following your Orthodontic Specialist's instructions now, then consulting with your General Dentist, after braces removal, about whitening.
