None: An antibiotic is prescribed to treat an infection or to prevent a possible infection in a susceptible condition. A wisdom tooth in itself is not a disease or infection, although you can have an infection caused by a wisdom tooth. If you have an infection related to a wisdom tooth, penicillin would be the antibiotic of choice unless you are allergic to it.

Depends: Depends on the situation. If wisdom teeth are infected, the most common antibiotic is usually penicillin. For extraction of wisdom teeth, oral or IV antibiotics usually not necessary. Oral antibiotic rinse often prescribed. For best results, make sure you are evaluated and treated by a board certified oral & maxillofacial surgeon.
