How recently ?: And how much pain? How difficult was the extraction? It's so hare to give you a meaningful answer without this information. Understand that your extraction was a minor surgery and that everyone heals at a different pace. Add your infection, and it might take longer for you to heal. Your surgeon would be better prepared to advise you.

Not necessary: The removal of impacted teeth is a serious surgical procedure.Post operative pain in some cases, may last up to 7 - 14 days before completely subsiding. Take Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Advil for mild to moderate pain.
