Complex answer: There is no single test that confirms asthma. Asthma is clinical diagnosis based upon the patients history, exam and testing ( spirometry, exhaled Nitric Oxide levels, allergy testing, response to bronchodilators). Many other diseases may mimic asthma and have similar symptoms.
