Can you get asthma in adults without having symptoms?

Not sure about quest: One of the primary diagnostic criteria for asthma are symptoms. Can asthma occur at any age- yes.But without any symptoms why would you think you have asthma? I either case a simple spirometry test and oral history can confirm or rule out asthma.

I have seen patients with significant reversible airway obstruction, a hallmark of asthma, without respiratory symptoms but complaining of fatigue. The fatigue often improves after adequate treatment of asthma. There was one report noting that status asthamaticus was not diagnosed until post-mortem exam meaning that these patients were never diagnosed to have asthma until after they died from it.
