What has been found about your TMJ and discs? Any treatment has been given? Since you have had 2 arthroscopies, consulting an oral surgeon, or ENT doctor, and/or dentist(s) who treat TMJ patients can lead to more specific answers to your qs.

Arthritic changes: The disc acts as a cushion between the jaw joint and the fossa and aids in movement of the joint. If the disc is displaced, usually in the anterior direction, bone to bone contact can occur. Over time wear and tear can occur causing osteoarthritis. Limited jaw opening and pain can also develop. I would advise consultation with your dentist who may refer you to a specialist for evaluation.

Disk can peforate: In ADD without reduction, the disk can perforate. Make sure you're being evaluated/treated by a TMJ expert.
