Caution: Before considering another type of TMJ/TMD surgery, I would have more than one opinion. Surgeries can sometimes make conditions worse.

Can be successful: Can be successful. Most important thing is to see a VERY experienced TMJ surgeon. Also try non surgical options also.

Not recommended: Only if other measures have failed. The dermis fat graft TMJ surgery is a safe and effective procedure in the management of TMJ ankylosis only. See Orofacial Pain specialist for conservative non surgical treatment.
