to my knowledge, there are reported cases of hearing loss secondary to TMJ disc replacement. The only side effects documented are related to chronic pain in the joint, headache , ossification and arthritic discomfort. The TMJ is not located near the auditory nerve and not close enough to the boney structures to interfere with sensory conduction of sound

In spite of proximity to ear, there is NO direct effect on hearing secondary to TMJ issues. See an oral surgeon and get the jaw stabilized. A dental splint might suffice.
