C. difficile: Toxin assays for c. Difficile are next to meaningless in the absence of symptomatic changes in bowel function. See your GI doctor and do what they recommend. Probiotics are ok, but you could also try using unpasteurized yogurt regularly in your diet. Good luck.

Constipation/C. Dif : There is a small percentage of healthy adult will have c. Difficile toxin tested positive, but they will not need to be treated if they are symptomatic. It is not recommended to test for c. Difficile toxin status if you do not have diarrhea. For your constipation, suggest high fiber diet, use citrucel (one tablespoon in 8 oz of water, drink daily). If the above not help, you can try MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) otc.
