Just not the issue: First, everyone over age 50 should have a colonoscopy. This involves a considerable cleanse, so, you might wait until after that. Second, dietary fiber is involved in a lot more than just regularity and lower risk of colon cancer, so, you should do that.

I wouldn't.: Two issues. One, quite frankly, after the colon is "cleansed", you eat, make poop and it's dirty again so there's really no permanent solution there. Second, there have been electrolyte disturbances that have resulted from colon cleanses which can cause heart rhythm issues. Get evaluated for your bowel issues properly.
