I'm thinking of getting gosmetic surgery on teeth - gum contouring, crowns/veneers - advice would be fantastic?

Seek consultation: This will be a lengthy conversation with a dentist who treats cosmetic issues. There are many modalities that could be part of the solution including restorative dentistry, surgery and orthodontics. Ask lots of questions and feel free to seek multiple opinions but answers to your question will require a physical visit to a dentist.

Smile line: Re contouring and veneers would make for a beautiful end result when done by a qualified clinician. Make sure you see photos before and after -- of cases done by the dentist. Understand your commitment to oral hygiene and care of the veneers is also paramount. There will be modifications required of you (biting into foods etc) that will be lifelong. Also understand replacements may be necessar.
