Likely viral : Most common cause for such symptoms, a viral illness. If the fever breaks in a couple more days, you are ok. Persistnce of fever, increase in lymph node size, rash, bruising, etc, would be immediate reason to see the pediatrician for further assessment. Seasonally many viruses can present in this manner. Strep throat occassionally occur in young ones too, so a swab may be considered.
