Bread: Is unhealthy on many levels. High fructose corn syrup is, obviously, not great but the grains used to make bread cause a variety of other issues. Bread made from wheat has been shown to raise blood sugar and to cause inflammation. Wheat gets broken down into sugar (even if there is no sugar added). Wheat also contains gluten, which is addictive and inflammatory. Books: grain brain / wheat belly.
