Not the only cause: Carpal tunnel syndrome is a common cause of arm and wrist discomfort. If you have discomfort there, it is wise to consider if it may be the cause. Normally there is also numbness or tingling in the fingertips with this condition however.

Possible.: Interestingly the symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome can ascend the arm backwards up as high as the shoulder, so CTS could make the whole arm feel painful, tingly, numb, restless or weak.
