Yes and no: Both are atypical antipsychotics.Zyprexa is a thienobenzodiazepine. Abilify (aripiprazole) is a part of a drug class simply called " other antipsychotics" but includes piperazine in its complex structure.

Abilify/Zyprexa: Zyprexa is first generation Antipsychotic. Abilify (aripiprazole) is second generation or Atypical Antipsychotic.
