Akathesia is a: Fairly common side effect from abilify (aripiprazole). Luckily it can be treated with medications like Cogentin or benadryl. No promises of waking up early on either medication but most of my patients sleep well on Abilify (aripiprazole) and are not groggy in the morning.

Probably: Abilify (aripiprazole) is more prone to cause akathisia than zyprexa, but is less sedating.
