Stiff neck?: If she has a fever, a headache, and a stiff neck (can't touch her chin to her chest), take her in to an er asap to be sure she doesn't have meningitis. If she is lethargic or confused, those are other worrisome signs. If her fever comes down with Ibuprofen or acetaminophen, and she does not seem excessively ill, you can probably wait for this illness to resolve. Otherwise, take her in!

More info needed: In addition to what dr. Larsh has stated, a urinary infection needs to be checked into. At any rate, she must be seen promptly to establish what is going on and treat properly--how long has the fever been going on?
