A member asked:

Have a plate, 11 screws in ankle. i know when it's going to rain before the weatherman knows. it starts hurting bad. why? what makes it do that?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Nothing to worrisome: It is not in your head. I don't believe that we have a complete explanation but we do know that change in temperature and barometric pressure can change the pressure around the tissues and joints. Therefore if there is already disruption of the equilibrium of the joint through a metal plate or screws, it leads to perception of pain.
