RPR ; FTA tests: Rpr is rapid plasma reagin test for screening syphilis disease. The disease produces antibodies, which this test measures. It can be positive in other diseases like drugs, lupus, malaria etc. It can be absent in early ; late disease. The results are given in titers. The test is periodically repeated to monitor the treatment. The titer goes down. Fta-abs is confirming test for disease when rpr+.
