It depends...: Some centers use IV contrast, citing increased sensitivity for the detection of polyps. Other institutions feel the risk of complication from IV contrast outweighs the benefits and do not give IV contrast. I would discuss it with the radiologist reading your study and determine what will be best in your case. I hope this helps.
