Not all CTs are the : Same. A ct colonography is a special ct with different technique and patient preparation in order to see the inside of the colon. A more common ct, for example, to evaluate abdominal pain, does not distend the colon to allow for optimal visualization. As ct scanners have improved, instead of a generic, "one size fits all" protocol, many ct's are specialzed to evaluate a particular diagnosis.
