A member asked:

Over the last day i have found a swollen lymph node behind my left ear, it is painless. what could it stem from? is it cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Reactive process: A reaction to a skin infection would be the most common reason for an enlarged node. Most doctors would place you on antibiotics for a couple weeks. If the node persists an fna (fine needle aspirate) can be obtained so that a pathologist could review the cells involved in this process. See your doctor.
