A member asked:

My pth was 9.2 when i had it checked. is this normal?

PTH of 9.2: To determine the significance of a PTH level, one has to know the corrected serum calcium level (c). If the c is 9.8, a PTH level of 9.2 is normal, as the parathyroid gland is not dealing with a low c and has no reason to increase the c. Speak to the physician who ordered the tests for more information.

Depends: This totally depends on what type of test your laboratory uses and the type of units that they report their normals and abnormals in. Ask the doc who ran the test.
