No: These are not typical symptoms of ankylosing spondylitis. The main symptoms are back stiffness and pain. Typically pain proves with activity and increases at rest. Other joint swelling, and a type of tendinitis called enthesopathy also occur and could cause the symptoms you describe but your description does not sound typical for this disease

Possibly: Stiffness can be found, but shin pain probably has another cause, such as stress fractures.
