Depends: On what was used to inject (saline, lidocaine, botox), how deep it was placed, etc. Usually nothing untoward occurs with these relatively benign procedures and it'll be like a bruise - fading symptoms over 1-3 days.

Usually a waste: You do not state why they were given but trigger point injections are generally a waste of time and provide at best only very short term benefit.
