Removal safe: Your ultrasound showed a 7.5 mm polyp on the gallbladder. A consult surgeon recommends removal. The surgery will be safe removal of gallbladder at your age. It is unusual to need a gallbladder at your age and gender(male). The surgeon wants to make sure no cancer so if a second consult surgeon also recommends removal you should consider it. Hope this helps.
